As the owner of Choptank Boatworks, Patrick Mertaugh applies the appropriate traditional and modern methods and materials to every commission, practicing skills acquired at the Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design and honed during years of experience in the marine industry.

The boatshop in Denton, Maryland measures 30ft x 80ft. Choptank Boatworks builds and restores in a variety of wood methods including: Carvel, Lapstrake, Strip Planked, Glued Plywood, Glued Lapstrake, Cold-molded, and Stitch & Glue.

    Andrew Abreu is from Lancaster County, PA.  He is an avid woodworker and started building boats in high school. Andrew, a former architecture student, is a Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design graduate, previously worked in a high-end cabinet/architectural millwork shop as well as in the Caribbean as a boat carpenter. Currently he is building his own cold-molded powerboat.

    Chris Flood comes from Maine with family in Delaware. A communications major from USM, he worked at family-owned newspaper as journalist and editor in Southern Maine. After graduating from the Landing School of Boatbuilding's Traditional Small Boat Program, Chris worked in local wooden boatshops in Southern Maine and Maryland's Eastern Shore.
