We woke up to some white stuff on the ground, and in the air, this morning.  Very pretty, but a bit much for March.  Anyway, I slid into the shop and did some work on the San Francisco Pelican new build.  The project is really starting to shape up and look very boat like.  I’ve installed some support structure for the deckbeams, the framing for the side decks, the floor boards, and the mast step.  Oh yeah, I also installed the cleats for the thwart.  In boatbuilding talk, a cleat can be a cleat, but it can also be a piece of wood that provides a surface for something to be attached to.  Usually, you’re attaching some kind of broad surface to an obscure area in the middle of the boat, like a bulkhead (wall), a floorboard, or in this case a seat.  A thwart is a seat that goes across the boat from port to starboard.  Here’s a pic that shows most of the new stuff:
