Saying goodbye to Minots Light, a 41′ Nielsen yawl that I’ve worked on for many years now. I’ve had great difficulty finding a good crew of shipwrights in the last few years, so I’ve sent her to a shop that can better serve the boat and the customer. She came in for a relatively small (for the size of boat) repair job, and stayed for a complete restoration replacing at least half of the wood on the boat.
With the help of a part-time employee and fellow Landing School grad Dave Voss, I got some deck beams laminated up for the little Pelican sailboat. We started fitting them in place and getting some companion frames fit as well.
