Here are some nice little transom windows to watch the fish as you sail past.  Not really, they’re transom flaps that will let water out of the boat if you capsize, but keep the water from entering while sailing upright.  One of the best things about wooden boat work (second to the huge profits I earn), is working with a variety of materials: wood, glues, metals, coatings, and even plastics.  These flaps are made of some lexan that I had leftover from a shop window project.  I made some hinges from a hunk of Neoprene I had (beer koozie), and they are sprung into place with an adjustable shock cord.  Proof that drinking cold beer has it’s advantages.  Have a great weekend!
